Food And Drink

Scientists reveal what your favorite way to eat eggs really says about you.

Do you prefer your eggs boiled, poached, fried, scrambled, or as an omelette? Believe it or not, the way you enjoy your eggs might say a lot more about you than you think.

A quirky but insightful study by Mindlab International, commissioned by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), surveyed over 1,000 people in the UK to explore the link between egg preferences and personality traits. The findings are as entertaining as they are unexpected!

Let’s crack into the results, shall we?

🥚 Boiled Eggs

Boiled egg lovers—especially women—were found to be impulsive and occasionally disorganized. Interestingly, they also scored higher when it came to being at risk of divorce. So, if you prefer eggs in the shell, maybe keep your calendar handy and your relationship check-ins regular.

🍳 Fried Eggs

Fried egg fans tend to be young men from skilled working-class backgrounds. They’re said to be creative, imaginative, and open to new experiences. According to the study, they also have a high sex drive and vivid dream recall. Not bad for a breakfast classic!

🥚 Poached Eggs

If poached eggs top your breakfast menu, you’re likely to be sociable, upbeat, and energetic. You might also favor bold fashion and lively music. The research also found that poached egg lovers often come from small families and usually have two kids. This preference increases with age—and taste, clearly.

🧀 Omelettes

Omelette lovers are the planners of the egg world. These folks are organized, reliable, and tidy. The data suggests they have longer life spans and lower divorce rates. Also, preparing an omelette takes more skill—so if that’s your go-to, you’ve got your life pretty sorted.

🌀 Scrambled Eggs

Fans of scrambled eggs are most likely to be professionals in senior roles, often between 20 to 39 years old. They’re known for being guarded and less open emotionally, but clearly have their life together—complete with mortgages and career goals.

🧂Final Thoughts

While this egg-cellent research is light-hearted and based on a relatively small sample, it’s still fun to see how breakfast might reflect deeper aspects of who we are. Take it with a pinch of salt (and pepper), and maybe next time you crack an egg, think about what it might be saying about you.
