Brandi Glanville, known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been facing a bizarre and painful health battle—one she believes involves a parasite living in her face.
The 52-year-old reality star traced the start of her ordeal to a trip to Morocco while filming Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. According to Glanville, food was often left out for hours in the heat, and she now suspects that’s when she contracted something sinister.
“We had meat sitting out for hours,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Then months later, I could feel something moving under my skin.”
A Shocking Transformation
By mid-2023, Glanville noticed that her face began to swell, sink in, and show tiny bubbles bursting under the surface. She began to lose teeth and said her face looked completely different. The mystery has left her spending over $70,000 on medical consultations, including $10,000 just on lab tests—yet doctors still have no clear answers.

She described symptoms including:
- Constant facial swelling
- A foul-tasting, oily drainage from her face into her mouth
- Swollen lymph nodes in her head and neck
Despite visiting numerous doctors, including those at Kaiser Permanente, she says she’s repeatedly been told, “You’re fine.” But Glanville insists something is seriously wrong.
Is It a Parasite or Something Else?
Some speculate she may be suffering from Morgellons disease, a controversial condition where people believe they’re infested with parasites without any medical evidence. (Read more about Morgellons here via CDC)

However, plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow told TMZ he suspects a microorganism or foreign body reaction from an injection or cosmetic procedure may be to blame. He warned that without treatment, the damage could worsen.
“It could take 6 to 12 months of antibiotics,” Dubrow said. “The longer it stays, the worse it could get.”
DIY “Hacks” Raise Concerns
In her desperation, Brandi has experimented with unorthodox treatments—like applying Nair hair removal cream to her face and mixing aloe, cucumber, and black tea in a DIY skin potion.
“When I exfoliate, it pisses off the parasite,” she claimed in a TikTok video.

Fans have voiced concerns that she’s harming herself with these harsh at-home remedies. Some even noted she appeared to suffer a chemical burn on social media.
Final Thoughts
Brandi’s battle is raw, confusing, and heartbreaking. Whether it’s a parasite, autoimmune disorder, or something else, it highlights how medical mysteries can deeply impact mental and emotional health. Hopefully, continued medical investigation brings her clarity and healing.
For now, fans can only hope she gets the answers—and relief—she desperately needs.
