Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson has announced that she is postponing the remainder of her Las Vegas Studio Session shows this August after the heartbreaking news that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has expired at the age of 48.

According to a statement given to People Magazine, Blackstock passed away peacefully after a more than three-year battle with cancer. The Fort Worth, Texas native—best known for managing high-profile country stars like Blake Shelton—was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
A Personal and Professional Life in the Spotlight
Blackstock, who was married to Clarkson from 2013 until their divorce in 2022, shared two children with the Grammy-winning singer. He also had two children from a previous marriage and had recently become a grandfather.

Reflecting on their first meeting in 2013, Clarkson once told People, “This guy walks by, making everybody laugh. I said, ‘I’m gonna end up with him. I know it.’” They tied the knot later that year, and over time, she often spoke about their deep personal and professional connection.
Clarkson wasn’t the only one to praise his work ethic—she once told Marie Claire that she would have hired Blackstock as her manager “regardless” of their relationship because of how talented and dedicated he was, especially seeing the success he brought to Blake Shelton’s career.
