According to a global study conducted with over 2,000 participants, Italians are officially the world’s best lovers. With 21% of respondents saying their most memorable romantic experience was with an Italian partner, it seems the country known for its pasta and passion really delivers in the romance department.
Right behind them? The Spanish with 15%, and Greeks claiming third place at 14%.

A big reason why these international flings rank so high? Vacation romance. Over a third of participants said their most unforgettable romantic encounter happened while traveling abroad, often during a spontaneous, whirlwind affair.
One woman shared how a trip to Naples turned into a love story she’ll never forget:
“I went for the pizza but stayed for Paolo. He had this warmth and confidence that British guys just don’t have.”
